Venice eating after 9-10PM
 

Hello!

We reach Venice Treviso at 8.15PM and it'll roughly around 9.45PM by the time we reach Piazzale Roma. Our hotel in in Cannaregio near Ca D'oro.

Is there any osteria/pizzeria open around 10PM near Piazzale Roma or Ca D'Oro?

Or should we pack and carry dinner before we leave from Paris in the evening?

There are places open, but not very many. Maybe your hotel can guide you to an open restaurant. Venice really rolls up the sidewalk early. I got in trouble with my kids over this. We went to hear a concert (Vivaldi) and I assured them that there would be plenty of places to eat when the concert ended at 10:15 (we had been in Rome where everything WAS open late). We got out of the concert and the streets were silent. We finally found a bar kind of place open and had stale sandwiches and overheated pizza.

There's one restaurant that is generally well reviewed and is in the same area as your hotel: Vini da Gigio, Fondamenta de la Chiesa, Cannaregio 3628/a, Phone: 041/5285140. It's closed Monday and Tuesday. I couldn't find its hours listed anywhere.

The other possibility is one of the few places that caters to night owls and also serves food: Paradiso Perduto, Fondamenta della Misericordia, Cannaregio 2540, Phone: 041/720581. It's closed Tuesday and Wednesday according to one source and on Wednesday only according to another.

My mom and I almost ended up eating breadsticks at a bar our first night in Venice, but luckily we stumbled upon an open (and overpriced) pizzeria and had some mediocre pasta and a few rum and cokes. It was actually pretty successful.

Where are you before flying into Treviso? If you have a chance to to eat a late lunch or early dinner before flying to Venice, you will be OK even if you don't find a restaurant open near your hotel . . . .

We are flying in from Paris. The flight's from Beauvais at 18.45 and reaches Treviso at 20.15

Going by the response, we may be better off having our dinner packed in Paris itself.
