Venice Dining Alone 6/2-6/4 - Care to Join?
I will be traveling to Italy to visit friends, but will be traveling alone to Venice on Friday, June 2 - Sunday, June 4. If any Fodorites would like to meet for good food and conversation, please reply. Karen

Oh, what I wouldn't give to join you!! But unfortunately I will be at home in TX at that time. Not that TX is a bad place to be, but I would much prefer to be in Venice. So my post will only serve to top your thread, and I hope you will find someone to join you. Happy trip!!

Karen- you'd have one large dinner party if all of us who wished we were in Venice, were in Venice!
I'll top this post with the encouragement -having been to Venice solo myself- it you end up alone, it's an comfortable city for that.

Thanks everyone....I also posted on the Solo Travelor board since I found that after this one. Everyone seems to be there either before or after me. I would have loved to have gone later, but my brother-in-law gets married (for the 2nd time) June 24 and I could not get out of attending. Wishing everyone was there with me!

I, too, wish I could be there to join you. Any excuse to go to Venice. 
Have a great time there and hope you find a dining companion or so... If not, I agree with suze, it's a beautiful place to just eat and hang by yourself. You won't be alone for long.

Everyone keeps assuring me that since the tables are so close and being a blonde women traveling alone, I will have no problem finding people to talk to. I love people watching so want to eat outside or in a lively restaurant, anyone have suggestions?

It looks like I will be getting off a cruise in Venice on Jun 2 and staying for one night. Looking for a hotel/B & B for June 2 at this point. Thing sstill not firm as I am working with FF miles for the air ticket
I will check back again on the board to update.

Pat - good luck with the ff tickets - I was unable to use them - no seats left even on my flexible dates. Have fun on the cruise - Been on about 15 cruises but never in Europe. Greek Isles is my next one. I am staying at the Al Gambero hotel http://www.locandaalgambero.com/inglese/hotel.htm 150 eur for a single private bath. Got good reviews and very convenient to everything. This is my 3rd time visiting but first solo.

Well I got my FF tickets and will be arriving in Venice on Sat. 6-3 AM. I am planning on leaving on 6-5 but may try to change my ticket to come back earlier. There are no FF seats back to the NY area before 6-5.
