Venice Card - worth it?
 

Hi, husband and I will be in Venice for 2 days and 2 nights.

Do you recommend the use of Venice Card (Blue)? If we purchase it online, would be 63 Euros (total).

depends where you are staying and what you want to do. don't listen to anyone who says don't buy a ticket. i have been fined when the conductor wants to see tickets!!! i am not familiar with blue..... wiat am i thinking of the vaporetto card? is blue a museum card? ok sorry to confuse!! if its the vaporetto card and you want to see other islands than i say yes.

NO.

Ordinary vaporetto passes - you would want the 24 -hour or 72-hour (which at € 22)costs about the same as two 24-hour passes) are much cheaper, even assuming prices have risen slightly since 2004 when we went. Buy when you get there, not online.

I don't think there is a definitive answer to your question. We were in Venice for a week. We bought the pass that did not include everything (I can't remember if it was blue or orange). We reserved our pass online, but it was cheaper to get it at the airport.

Because of where we were staying, we knew we would take the bus to P. Roma, which was included. We also knew that we would be riding the vaporetti A LOT. We also knew we wanted to buy Chorus Passes, which were discounted on the Venice Card.

We go to lots of museums, like to go to far corners of places we visit, and on top of all that, we got discounts on our tickets to the Biennale.

For us, adding up a minimum number of sites and rides, it was absolutely clear that the pass would save us money.

For two days, I'm not sure. If you are staying someplace central, you will probably do a lot of walking.

63 Euro seems kind of high for two days. I don't think we payed much over about 55 each, in October, and that was for one week passes.

Is 63 for both passes? Are you getting two Alilaguna rides each with that? If so, it could be a good buy.

But if it is 63 euro each, I don't think it would be worth your money.

Figure on 12 e each way for the Alilaguna, and 6 euro per vaporetto ride. Did you check museum entrance prices? How many can you go to in two days?

The price of 63 Euros is for both of us. One 33 other 30 (depends on age.

We'll stay 150m away from San Samuele stop and I'm sure we will do lots of walking.

hmmm.. I think we won't get the card.. as said here, not sure if we will have enough time for museums in two days.. So will be more like walk walk walk, enjoy the scenary and the main tourist Attractions.
