Venice - car drop off
 

We will be dropping off our rental car in Venice. Which is more convenient, drop off at the airport in Venice or the Piazzale Romo, downtown Venice? We will be staying in Venice for 4 days after dropping off car.

If your rental company has a dropoff at P. Roma and you are staying in historic Venice, then P. Roma is the best place to drop it off. There's a vaporetto stop nearby.

You can also drop your car off at the Venice Airport and take a water taxi.

Keep in mind, however, that the water taxi will be much more expensive than the vaporetto.

piazzale roma car locations are across the street from the vaporetto stop. the airport is much further out. since you are staying in venice after dropping the car, this is a no-brainer. Even if you didn't want to take the vaporetto and wanted to spend a lot on the water taxi, they are cheaper at p. roma than the airport and are definitely available.

I decided on P. Romo. I wasn't sure how easy P. Roma was to get to but it sounds pretty convenient. The airport looks too far especially if I'm staying a few days in Venice before flying out. Thanks for the info.
