Venice - Busier on weekdays or weekends?

Have no choice, will arrive in Venice on Friday and leave on Monday during first of June. I know the term crowded is relative, but are weekend days worse or about the same?

Even if it is so what. You don't have a choice, do you?
beisdes, sometimes they are worse, sometimes they are not.
I hope this helps

Your answer doesn't help one damn bit. It's typical of the smart-ass answers that seem to be so prevalent lately. Is it too much to ask for a smiple honest answer? I would just like to know whether or not the weekends are busier than weekdays.

Hi
weekends are busier in terms of tourists, as they are in many popular destinations because some people in the region will take just a long weekend for their visits.
Venice is a very popular weekend destination from other cities in Italy and Europe.

Venice gets substantially more visitors from other parts of Europe on weekends than on weekdays, adding to the crush of visitors form every other part of the globe. It's like Vegas and weekend visitors.
The worst crowds are around San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge. You will probably not have any problems when away from those areas.
I can vouch for the fact that weekend visitors outnumber the weekday visitors by a pretty large factor. You will have at least a couple of things going for you, even on a weekend:
(1) Most of the visitors are on day trips and they leave in the early evening or late afternoon.
(2) The best time in Venice is later in the evening, for strolling around, and earlier in the morning, before all the crowds arrive. You'll enjoy it with all the others who are staying overnight. It's a magical place at night, something like nowhere else.

Rhonda, I'll be there next weekend as well and have the same concerns but what can you do. Still doesn't merit a rude response.

Wayne, thanks for the good info.
