Venice - best way to get to Piazzale Roma from San Basilio Cruise Terminal

We arrive in the early morning and need to make our way to the hotel near Piazzale Roma (Zerlina if you're reading this I have taken your good advice - thank you!). We'll have one suitcase each so it's a bit much to walk. Are we best to take a land taxi or is there a vaporetto that runs between San Basilio and PR? Many thanks for the help.

Here's a map of the vaporetto routes:

From San Basilio to Piazzale Roma, you can take the 2 and 61.

I'm glad; I think you'll enjoy your brief Venice stay much more.

Many cruise lines have shuttles to Piazzale Roma. I'm afraid I have no idea whether there's a vaporetto.

Wonderful! Great site ellenem, grazie mille!

Ummm, if you look closely at that map, the San Basilio stop is nowhere near the Stazione Marittima, where most cruise ships anchor, and I've never seen any cruise ships at anchor near the San Basilio stop. Unless you're cruising in some small yacht-like ship, I think it will go to Stazione Marittima.

Which ship is this? The smaller cruise ships (and fast ferries from Croatia and Slovenia) use the San Basilio terminal.

It's the Royal Clipper - I maybe have made a wrong assumption but thought for some reason they dock at San Basilio. My bad, thanks for pointing it out and I'll follow up to confirm. I guess I'd better get directions from Marittima as well!

We left from San Basilo on a small ship, only 60 passengers.

The port website (www.vtp.it) has lists of cruise ships and their berths, and maps of the port.
The ROYAL CLIPPER is scheduled to berth at the San Basilio terminal.

Royal Clipper might well dock at San Basilio, so it's as likely to be my bad...

You gotta love this site, you guys are great. Many thanks Geoff for the link and confirmation. And Zerlina, we both learned something. Nothing wrong with that! ;)
