Venice: best way to celebrate our wedding anniversary in July, restaurants?

Next July we will be taking our two children who are twelve on a trip that will include time in Venice. We will celebrate our 23 year wedding anniversary while we are there and would like advice/ideas about great ways to celebrate. Memorable/special restaurant experience with view?

You might try Ristorante Da Raffaele -- very good food, canal-side seating, very romantic.

I liked Da Raffaele as well. My boyfriend and I dined there last fall on the recommendation of a friend who has been a long-time patron. It was very good and has a lovely atmosphere. There is also a gondola station next to it where you could arrange for a gondola ride, as we did. We showed up about 45 minutes before our reservation so we would have time to secure a gondola, go on the ride and return. It was at dusk and very beautiful.

We had dinner one night at the rooftop restaurant of our hotel, Terrazza Danieli. The views of the lagoon, San Giorgio Maggiore and the Grand Canal were beautiful, and the food was good as well. It was, not surprisingly, very expensive though.

My favorite meal was at a tiny, very romantic, very expensive restaurant called Ristorante da Ivo. It is on a rio, but there is really no view. The food and service were magnificent, but if you are taking your children too, they might prefer Da Raffaele.
