Venice - Bed & Breakfast
I plan to travel in Italy during May, 2006!
Sometime ago several people on this site mentioned a wonderful B&B in Venice and I contacted them for rates. My computer crashed and I lost all my info, including the NAME of the B&B. I seem to remember it as 'Locando (?)! Maybe someone can help me, or suggest another B&B. I usually stay at the Kette Hotel near Piazza San Marco but their rates are now 'obscene' and I prefer this area. Thanks to anyone who can help '3 girls from NYC'!! |
Lots of places start with "locanda" -- it's the equivalent of "inn." :)
My favorite place to stay, and it has been mentioned here *many* times, is Locanda Orseolo near Piazza San Marco. |
Bean,
Thanks for a quick reply and the 'Italian lesson' . . I'm gonna check out Locanda Orseolo and see if they have a website. The B&B I'm talking about only has 11 rooms but if I don't find it, I'm sure the one your recommended will suffice. Thanks again for the input . . |
Sorry...here's the website:
http://www.inns-venice-hotel.locandaorseolo.com/ And they only have 12 rooms, so it might be the place you're thinking of. There are some additional pictures at the link below, but the interior has been renovated since these were taken (and it's gorgeous): http://www.veniceby.com/orseolo/pages/gallery.htm |

We just returned and stayed a Locanda Fiorita. It is about 10 minute walk to St. Mark's. Very small, maybe 10-12 rooms, nice location (not far from Accademia Bridge), large courtyard where you can watch people walking to work (hee-hee). Would stay there again. www.locandafiorita.com |

Thank you all soooo much . .
I think Bean's suggestion was the one I was looking for but I will certainly check out the others! Hey, did anyone ever come back from Italy and say they had a miserable time . . It's the first trip to Italy for one of my girlfriends and I want her to love it as much as my other friends and I do. |
