Venice B&B or Apartment in June for under 120e

I know there must be one out there....a 3* level for 1 adult/1 child for 4 nights in June. Would prefer the more intimate B&B or apartment environment. Thank you for your help.

There may be others who know so don't give up, but this seems a bit of a difficult task-have you considered staying outside Venice, say Mestre, and commuting in...the Hotel Nuova Mestre is quite nice, and in the price range-a not bad restaurant next door and easy train trip into Venice itself...

Whatever you do, do not stay outside of Venice proper, neither in Mestre nor on the Lido.

This B&B has been mentioned a few times here:

I stayed in an apartment a few years ago called Gli Angeli. I think its considered a B&B as the owner, Sonya (sp?) lives upstairs. She rents out three rooms/apartments and we had the largest which had a large main room with a (maybe) king sized bed, a small bedroom with a set of twins, a nice sized kitchen and bathroom. There's no canal view but there is access to a garden area in the back. It was quite affordable a few years ago - you might want to check it out. The owner is very nice and helpful and is around to answer questions and give restaurant, shopping recommendations, etc. Here's the web site: http://www.gliangeli.net

We had a triple (3 adults) at this B&B last late May for 120 euros:
Ca'Turelli
We booked it through www.veniceby.com
(look under B&Bs on the site for more choices).

Our friends had a double there about a week earlier for 110 e.

Small, clean, quiet, large bathroom, decent breakfast. We liked the Dorsoduro location very much, the first time I've stayed in that neighborhood.

Eloise mentions a B&B (Al Campaniel)that we also had reservations at; we switched to Ca'Turelli when we had to change dates. Al Campaniel sounded like a good choice for this price range as well.

From the research I've been doing I'd be surprised at finding a 3* for that price. However, here is the link to the apartment we reserved for May and the kitchenette comes stocked with food staples. He also has a larger apartment and a room he rents in his own home I think. I found on Venere.com, but here is the direct link:

Hi

This hotel - http://www.cabonvicini.com - is a screaming bargain. How long it can keep these prices is a mystery! This apartment is a great deal - http://utenti.lycos.it/lagune/

I agree with Eloise. Stay in Venice to truly experience its charm and magic. Book ASAP and good luck.

Try www.veniceapartments.org. I've rented from them and been very happy and they have some real bargains in terrific areas.

I've never been here, but the reviews are very good, and the apartment is in your price range:

Also note, the apartment is listed in the PDF on the rates page on that site.

I rented an apartment through

www.oikosvenice.com

They have apartments in every sestriere, minimum rental 3 nights, from around 100 euros a night. Bruno and Lucia were very pleasant and easy to deal with.

I've also stayed in B&B accommodation at

www.palazzoduodo.com

but it was 3/4 years ago and it may be more than your budget now.

Have a great trip!

Have a great trip.

You can probably find an apartment in that price range with www.venicerentals.com.

We stayed at Hotel Galleria last May for 105 Euros including breakfast on the Grand Canal - very charming and well rated on www.tripadvisor.com. Absolutely stay in Venice.

Thank you all for taking the time to provide recommendations. Some of these apartments are VERY roomy and well priced. This being our 1st trip to Italy, it would be nice having the guidance of a B&B owner each day....something I suspect we would give up if we went with an apartment. Tough decision.

In reply to the apartment link from "worldinabag":

This is truly a beautiful apartment. I have rented from the Ruzzene family many times in three of their apartments, including the one pictures. The Rialto apartment unfortunately does not get rented out for less than a week, so staying for four days probably will not work for the OP.

worldinabag Apr 11th, 2006 05:01 AM

Oh, OK Knix, thanks. Their website is a little misleading then in that it doesn't state a minimum stay. It states "The daily rate (from 110 € to 150 € ) depends on the lenght of the stay and the number of guests."
