It may get colder but it certainly won't be cold. I was in Paris last October and it was never cold. It was damp the last week but I only wore a light jacket with a shawl over it. The only time I was cold was when I took the Seine boat trip at night and sat outside. But it was 11:00 at night and the boat was moving creating a breeze. I wasn't cold when I was walking on the street.

My two favorite months weather-wise for Paris are September and April. Seems to be always pleasant. I usually take a lightweight coat for the few times you might need it (early morning or late evening), but I rely mostly on scarves and sweaters. I am going in mid-September (only 4 weeks away!!) and will take my trusty french scarf and be just fine.

Paris doesn't generally get "cooler" under the second half of October.
We are thinking we deserve a warm September anyway, because we are suffering through our 3rd lousy and cool August in 3 years in Paris.
