Venice apartment large enough to REALLY SLEEP FAMILY OF 6...1 or 2 nights?

Does anyone know of an apartment in Venice large enought to really sleep a family of six? We will only need it for a night or two...late in November.

Thanks!

Does it have to be an apartment? You may have trouble finding one for less than a week's time. Why not get a couple of triple rooms, or even a quad and a double. We did that for our family of 5. It worked out just fine.

Hey ChanB.
We are renting an apartment for our family of 6 in Venice in June. I'm not sure how long a stay they require - but you could check them out.

I can't give it a personal recommendation yet --- only hope!

Mkdiebold...doesn't have to be an apt. We are staying in an apt in Florence and thought it might be good in Venice also. I do wonder though...maybe staying in a hotel will be easier for just a night or two.

Any recommendations for hotels? In a great location for parents and college aged kids.

Still interested in apartment ideas.

Nona50...thanks for the website. I will check it out.

Hi Chan - We've stayed in Lido several times at these apartments:

www.villelido.it

[They are 3-room apartments (- 1 double en suite, 1 twin, bathroom and a living/dining room with sofa beds].

Some people advise against staying in Lido, but we enjoy the boat ride over and back each day.

I stayed in an apartment in 2005 just off the Frezzeria between San Marco and Rialto. it had a double bedroom, a twin room, a single room and another with a double sofa bed. There was also a large kitchen/dining room, a large sitting room with sofas and a bathroom.

It was very comfortable, up just one flight of wide stone stairs.

This company currently have nine apartments in Venice sleeping 5 or more.

Actually just looked at the webpage for that apartment and see they've got rid of the sofa bed and got twin beds in its place - even better!

Try www.vrbo.com. We had great luck finding apartments there. Even for a couple of days.

Have a great trip.

You can try www.veniceapartments.org. We booked an apartment for 5 for just 3 nights in May.

We used this agency for for Venice and florence - they have a range of nice apartments - the one we rented near the Arsenal was particularly pleasant and comfortable.

I can also recommend www.venicerentals.com

Venice Rentals is wonderful. They met us at the vaporetto stop. Showed us how to use everything in the apartment. Acquainted us with places in the area. They were wondefrful!

Thank you everyone for your recommendations. I will begin my search for 1 night in Venice! Looks like that will be all we can fit in this time.

I hope one day and one night in Venice is enough to get a taste. We'll be back again someday I'm sure!

We (a group of 6) just came back from Venice. We really liked our apartment because it was slightly away from the crowds yet walkable to San Marco square. Just around the corner was a main street area where you can get fresh fruit and find good restaurants. Good luck!

For only 1 night, I would go with a hotel and get a couple of rooms.

I just booked an apt. in venice, and I remember that many had a 3 night minimum

Hi All...thank you so much for your input! I ended up booking the Marconi - next to the Rialto bridge on the Grand Canal. Two rooms/one night at 160.00 Euro each room. I thought that was pretty good. Fingers crossed that the hotel is worthy.
