Returning (from Innsbruck)to Venice airport for departure to US. 10:00 am flight. Could we stay in Verona or should it be somewhere near the Venice airport? Heard that the train has frequent airport runs. Would near the train station be even better? We are looking for cheap! Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think you heard wrong: The train does not go to Marco Polo airport.

The fastest Venice-VCE connection is the (blue) ATVO bus that goes there directly from Piazzale Roma. There are a few hotels near by.

For cheap, you might consider something in Mestre that is close to the train station, which is a stop on the route of the (orange) ACTV bus that goes to the airport, with stops in between.

It's about 10 mins from the airport on the bus route from Mestre station.

Alternatively if you stay in Mestre itself you can catch the ATVO Airport Shuttle bus from Mestre station.
