venice airport to dorsoduro hotel

Does anyone know how to get from Marco polo to dorsoduro? I've read that there is a hydrafoil to pza s. marco but then how would I get to hotel in dorsoduro from there? Maybe there is a closer stop to dorsoduro.

There are several stops on the Dorsoduro side of the Grand Canal.

The simplest and most reliable way to find out how to get to a hotel from airport or train station is to ask the hotel.

What's the name of the hotel?

I agree. What does the hotel's site say? What is yout hotel?

Alilaguna runs shuttle boats between Marco Polo airport and San Marco. I suppose this is the "hydrafoil" you mean. Many of this shuttle goes after St.Marco to Zattere stop in Dorsoduro on the Canal Giudecca. Some hotels in Dorsoduro (such as La Calcina) can be reached easily from Zattere stop. You can check the time table on www.aliaguna.it or something like that.

Ok, I read your answer. La Calcina, so take a Alilaguna to Zattere via San Marco.

la calcina's web site doesn't really work, that's why I haven't asked them (the obvious route to take. I've tried making reservations, even in italian, and they don't respond.

thanks for advice, I was worried I would need a sherpa

From their web site:

FROM THE AIRPORT

Direct by water taxi. Time: about 35 minutes

Land taxi to Piazzale Roma and then from Piazzale Roma take public water bus number 51 or 61. Get off at the "Zattere" stop, turn right as you disembark and go straight for 150 meters.
Time: about 45 minutes

Blue ATVO Coach to Piazzale Roma and then from Piazzale Roma water bus Line 51 or 61. Get off at the "Zattere" stop, turn right as you disembark and go straight for 150 meters.
Time: about 1 hour.

“ALILAGUNA’ boat from the Airport to the "Zattere" stop (last stop).
Disembark, turn right, and go straight for about 100 meters.
Time: about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

I'll be there in May!!

Hi Karenpg,

I'll be at the same hotel, La Calcina, as I stated in my previous posting. I arrive the 20th and leave for home on the 25th. Maybe we could meet up for a drink at the hotel's terrace. If interested, email me: [email protected].

PS: My friend and I are planning to do a sunset boat ride in Venice on Monday the 22nd. If we can get a minimum of 4 people, it's 40 Euros each. The tour is a little over an hour. Interested?

I've come in by train not from the airport but the vaporetto stop at Zattere is very very close to La Calcina.
