Venice Airport

Does anyone know where the venice airport is and how early you need to arrive before departure?

elvira Apr 18th, 2002 07:55 AM

The airport is on the "mainland", about 1-1 3/4 hours (this takes into consideration both land, water and walking via public transportation) northwest of Venice, depending upon your location. If your first arrival is OUTSIDE the EU, arrive at least two hours before departure. If you are landing first within the EU, then at least one hour before departure. When you land in Marco Polo Airport, ask the airline personnel if these times are still good - things change so quickly that they may require additional time before departure.

If we dock from a cruise ship at 10:00, can we make a 11:45 flight?

Ask your cruise company what they recommend.

I flew in and out of Venice twice last week. The times given above are pretty accurate. The security line can be very long, but check in lines go pretty fast.

You’ll need to be at the airport at least 2 hours prior to your flight to check in, maybe 3.

I'm very worried about this now. We have a 10:30 flight out of Milan on Monday, Sunday night flights are booked and I don't think we have time to make the 11:45 flight when we arrive to the dock at 10:00!! Is there a Hotel by the venice airport?
