Venice - Academia area

Hello,

I am about to book an apartment in the Academia (Vaporetto stop) area of Venice. We will arrive in Venice by train. Is this area far from the train station and from most tourist areas of Venice?

Thank you,

The area is 15 minutes walk from San Marco. Easy to get to, using a No 1 or No 2 vaporetto from the station. The No 2 vaporetto makes fewer stops down the Grand Canal, so is quicker. Both the No 1 and No 2 vaps stop at Accademia.

Nothing in central Venice is that far from the tourist areas. Depending on the location "near Academia" could also give you good access to the 4 and 5 boats that circle the perimeter of the island to stops along Fondamenta Zattere.

Hi Peter,

About how long does it take from the main train station to Accademia using No 2 vaporetto usually?

How much would something like this cost?

Thanks,

It is an excellent location, but you will definitely want a vaporetto pass to get around and enjoy the city and islands.

We love Accademia area as well and always stay there. S. Maria della Salute church nearby is fabulous, as is the view from there. Vaporetto Pass is the way to go.
