vegan London

Does anyone know good hostels or other good cheap places to stay especially for vegans in London? Good vegan restaurants?
When I was in London in college I went to Cranks often - I believe it's a vegetarian restaurant but certainly some of the dishes would qualify? There is one at Covent Garden, one off of Oxford St. (sorry, don't remember exactly where) and a 3rd location somewhere, I think. It's sort of upscale cafeteria-style, inexpensive as far as London goes... Of course, I haven't been there for years, but my parents have been as recently as last summer.
I'm posting from work and go off myself tonight so won't be able to add anything but there is a book called Sarah Brown's Vegetarian London which will give you the info you need.

Try "Food For Thought" on neal street (near covent fardens). I always come back there when in London.

Hi,

Agree - Food for thought is my favourite vegetarian restaurant in London - they have several vegan options. Also try Planet Organic; Mildreds (in Soho) and Neals Yard. There are some restaurant reviews at http://londonguide.cjb.net which you may find of interest.

Hope this helps and enjoy!

Mark.
