Vatican Tour Reservation Question

I sent a fax to the Vatican requesting a tour right after Thanksgiving but I have not received a confirmation fax as of yet. Should I have received one by now or will they fax it to my hotel in Rome? The tour was requested for Feb 15 or 16. Should I resend my request?

Thanks!

Jill, My confirming fax came after I had already left for my trip, so don't give up. (I checked in with "home" via email and so was able to get the information I needed.)

Demmler, the fax number I used was:
011 39 06 6988 5100

Good luck!

Per their site they say if they don't reply than it isn't available on your selected date. I chose the next day, after I had faxed them three times on the first day and never heard back. I did hear back within 2 days on the new date!! Keep on trying alternatives.

The Vatican typically does NOT fax back to you to confirm your request in advance. You will get a fax from them a day or two before your scheduled tour. That's how it worked for us last May.

So make sure the fax will find you, because you will need it. Give the Vatican your Rome hotel fax number, for example.

The effort is well worth it, as you get a scheduled entrance time and a good tour for a low price.

P.S. I forgot to add that I, too, re-faxed about three times to the Vatican and didn't hear back from a one of them. But, we did get our requested tour time, which arrived by fax two days before our tour date (and about 2 hours before we left the house for the airport!). Good luck. :)>-

Please make sure you get the fax on the hotel in Rome. I did not do that and they faxed it to my office on the day of the tour and we did not find out until it was too late. So we missed out. If I had used the hotel fax number I would have gotten that morning and would have been able to make it.

I find it funny in this day and age that the vatican still uses this system. Even the Church of Santa Susanna - where we got tickets for the papal audience used email.

Good luck.

Joanne
