Eloise, I hope you're right that we do have a reservation! I'll check my fax in the morning, before leaving, and hope for the best. Otherwise, I'm leaving the hotel fax number with my son, just in case it does arrive. Also, I sent another (my fourth) fax to the Vatican, asking them to send duplicate confirmation to my hotel, too. It never hurts to ask!

They REALLY need to improve just about EVERY aspect of running this museum....

I loved the Sistene Chapel, but the rest of the experience was just so unpleasnt that if I return to Rome, I won't go back. Tour guides lecturing loudly, the crowds were so overwhelming I couldn't even see the art.

Hooray-- the fax arrived about 4:00 a.m., with a confirmed tour for two. Except they put my last name down for both people, which is incorrect, and there's a postscript at the bottom specifying that only those named on the confirmation can attend. Jeez. I'd sent both our names, typed very plainly. We'll see how it goes.
If they would conduct this process via e-mail, you'd think it would be so much more efficient and cost-effective for them. No paper to print out on both ends, no international fax charges, etc. Plus, it would be easier to correct mistakes.
Well, I'll report back in a couple of weeks.
