Hi, been read all VAT posted but still clueless.

I will depart from Malaysia to London for a holiday, but planning to shop LV and Chanel in France.

My last destination will be Gatwick airport , London, so will i be able to do VAT refund for France purchase(s) @ Gatwick?

And a bit confused about VAT refund, i f we choose to get the refund by CC, am i going to be charged by the percentage?

I am not too sure about the situation in Gatewick but I (or rather my wife) did VAT refund in CDG, Paris during our recent hoiliday in France. It was a very long wait and very stressful for me; details in my Blog. From what I gathered, you do your VAT refund at the last airport before leaving for home so in your case it will be Gatewick. We got back 12% and not the full VAT of about 20% and there was a 3 euro charge for every receipt when we opted for cash refund at CDG airport in Paris.
BTW, I am Malaysian too!

I doubt very much you can claim French tax back in the UK. You would have to claim any tax before leaving France. You can claim UK VAT at a UK airport. We did this years ago and had to show each item to the officials, this was after we had checked in our luggage which meant we then had to put all our claimable items in our carry on bags which was a bit of a pain. Things may have changed since.

Have you checked the official website for the airports, they should mention about how and where you claim back tax.
