Thanks,

It's just one of the suburbs touching the southern side of Paris. The metro goes there.

I guess I didn't make myself clear..I meant to ask about the weekend flea market.....sorry about that. Any suggestions for eating, after looking??

I have found that it is easy to get to, on line 13 metro, which is very easy when going from the 7th.

Thanks,

Joan

It's my favorite flea market. The things are not as expensive as St Ouen and I like the set-up. Not many places to eat there though there is a patisserie cafe as you exit the metro and start toward the market, it's right by the bus s top. Someone did give me the name of another place that is supposed to be goood nearby. I'll se if I can find it for you.

It's my favorite Paris flea market, as well. I didn't realize it was on Sunday's, I've only been on Saturday.

Don't carry a backpack because you are literally on a sidewalk with tables set up on both sides, so you're walking a very narrow path. Lots of art, china, paper, some furniture (mostly ratty).

Get there early on Saturday--before 8:00 a.m. is good. The little cafe referred to earlier is very tiny and crowded, but fine for a cafe creme and pastry.

There's a nice bistro we always have lunch at after reaching the end of the street, called La didiot (or something close). When you reach the intersection where the market bends to the left, look right and it's at the end of the street.

Have a great time!

I do thank all for your help!!

I am an early riser, so will be off bright an early to Vanves...Sat. or Sun.....

I will be in Paris for a month, so will most certainly be able to do it. Easy Metro from the 7th, too!

Not that I can buy much to haul back to the US. I always look for small interesting things for myself and for future gift giving. Fun to look...

Thank you,

Joan

avalon,

Thanks for the restaurant update!

I will probably be going in late September. I may try it before you. I will post about it, if so.....

Thanks,

Joan

It's my least favorite flea market. If you are not up to the Montreuil or Saint Ouen flea markets, I find the Kremlin-Bicêtre flea market better.

The Vanves flea market seems to have the highest percentage of professional merchants.

LuckyLuc Jul 8th, 2008 03:15 PM

Kerouac, what day is the Kremlin Bicêtre? Is there any antique jewels marchants?

Cameron Jul 12th, 2008 12:20 PM

Kremlin Bicêtre

I've not heard of this market. Hope kerouac comes back to this thread.

kerouac Jul 12th, 2008 01:27 PM

Sorry to disappoint you, but the Kremlin-Bicêtre flea market is a REAL flea market -- more of an informal bum's market and therefore much more surprising.
