Thank you very much for all the ideas. I can't find a guidebook for Malta, so this will be very helpful. If you don't work for the Tourist Board; you should!

LadyMarion, the Lonely Planet guidebook on Malta is very good. We used it a lot on our trip. You can buy it online at the LP website.
