Valencia restaurants
We will be in Valencia for one day on a cruise ship in May. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant to try some of the local rice dishes? Because of a skiing accident, I will have limited mobility so someplace within fairly close proximity of the cruise ship port area would be ideal. Thanks.

Valencia is a fantastic city! I just returned form 4 days/nights there, but unfortunately did not eat in the area of the cruise port. I will be happy to share names of places in other areas, though...
And I am sure that our local expert and resident, Lincasanova, will help you soon.. .Just to clarify, are you asking about lunch? Are you willing to take a short taxi ride? |
Thanks so much and glad that you enjoyed Valencia. We have been to Spain before but never to Valencia. I would take any recommendations that you have. Given our departure time, we will only be ashore for lunch. Short cab ride is not a problem.

La Marcelina at Avenida Neptuno 8, Las Arenas Beach, Valencia. Closed on Monday.

Glad you got a recommendation; that area is not far from the port.
There are quite a few restaurants on that stretch. We really did have an exceptional time in Valencia. It is truly underrated in a tourism sense. |
Valencia is among the Lonely Planet’s top 10 cities for 2011.

I like L'Estimat .. and my favorite rice is "el senyoret". peeled shrimps in a basic rich fish broth "dry rice".
Bar Aduana has great food and is also nearby. Then if you want to splurge on coffee walk down to Las Arenas 5 star hotel. Will expand more when I get home in the next few days. |
Thanks to you all. By the way, I was going to make a separate inquiry about Almeria but if any of you have any insights into sights, restaurants, etc., I would welcome any information. Our ship will be there for one day as well.
