Valencia City of Arts & Science

We will be in Valencia in early June and wondering about the City of Arts & Science. Sounds like architecturally it is amazing and really something to see. After reading some reviews it sounded like it was mainly geared towards families and we will be on our honeymoon (both 50 years old). I was considering the Hemisferic and the Oceanografic poritions or would we be better off not paying to go inside and just enjoying the gardens and the architecture from the outside? Is it worth it?

I had an "extra" day when I visited Valencia a few years ago, and spent part of it in the Aquarium, which had some interesting exhibits. I splurged a bit by eating at the restaurant there, surrounded by fish tank:

It is definitely worth visiting, while we wandered inside we didn’t end up paying to go to any of the exhibitions etc. We really enjoyed wandering around the outside, and have some great photos, it is architecturally stunning. We also went back one evening with a picnic and had dinner.

Its aquarium, L'Oceanogrāfic, is the largest in Europe and the third largest in the world. It's impressive. We spent several hours there. However, if you are disturbed by seeing dolphins, beluga whales, or walruses in captivity, you might not enjoy it.
