Vale do Coa and Viseu

anybody been to this place? We wanna go there in May. Starting from Viseu, how long will we drive by car? In the Internet they show 3 different tours starting at different places, but did not say much about whot to see. And they did not talk about, how much is the entrance fee for a tour? Any informations are wellcome. Also thing to do around Viseu.
Thanks
Gar

thanks for that great report. have done just a few pages and it isa lot of information that will help us along.
So You did not make any reservation? I guess we will also try without because it is difficult for us to do this in advance. Did You know about the price, they did not tell anything about how much a tour is.

Greetings from Germany

Btw : We also "collect" Unesco heritages

No reservations. We were worried because all guidebooks insist on reservations way ahead of time. We just came in that morning, waiting half an hour until the office opened and got tickets for both tours. The Roman ruins are also worthwhile, if only for the drive and their setting. I believe I mentioned in the report that we had intended to stay two nights but left for Viseu after the second tour.
