Val de Grace in Paris

Has anyone ever been inside of Val de Grace? I have always wanted to see the interior, but apparently it is not frequently open to the public. I will be in Paris this fall and would love to stop by if I can find out what the opening hours are.

Thanks!

I visited Val de Grace in October 2007 and it's just a lovely church. If you want to see it as a tourist, rather than attend services, the church is open 4 afternoons a week - Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00. You enter through the museum so there's a charge of perhaps 5 Euro. I did get one picture of the altar before I was told photographs are not permitted (I did not see any sign about photographs).

Been inside to visit the military medical museum and then they let yiu into the church but with a guide. It's hard to figure out what to do at then entrance but we and a French speaking lady finally made it. No pictures allowed. Give it a go!

I guess if you just wanted to d Mass there would be no priblem but the museum is worth a visit

I didn't have a guide in the church but you are watched all the time in the museum. When you enter the courtyard (through the wrought iron gates underneath the beautiful gold entwined A and L), walk diagonally to the right. There's a ticket window. Walk up, say "le musee svp" and hand them your money. It's really easy.

Dear Palette,

Thanks so much for the web link and for the info on translating the page. I never knew you could do that. I have been copying and pasting into Babelfish. Great tip!
