Vaccares Restaurant in Arles, are reservations necessary?

We'll be arriving in Arles late in the day and we were wondering where to dine, possibly the Vaccares Restaurant. Would we need reservations ahead of time? Thanks

I was there a few years ago when staying in Arles. We arrived early with no reservations. It's always a hit and miss. We dined at Auberge De L'Illhaeusern in Ribeauville. We were told by many to book in advance but we don't do that, we like the unexpected.

Cigalechanta, thanks for the reply, we're not married to our reservations, but like to make a few ahead of time. I do need to chill about this trip. It is much anticipated and I hope I don't burn out before we leave.

If you make reservations, you can reserve the balcony if you want to watch the action on the forum.

The Vaccares Restaurant in Arles is no longer there? That is what my hotel contact in Arles emailed me today???

OH, NO!!!!

cigalechanta, are you teasing me or serious? I just wanted a nice restaurant for our first night, someplace where that I didn't have to check out first. Any suggestions?

i am sad to hear if it's true that it is closed. Let me know when you return.
The locals eat at L'Affenage, 4, rue Moliere, 04 90 96 07 67
There's a place called La Cueva for tapas. I read that Chico Bouchikhi(founder of the Gypsy Kings) opened a restaurant but don't remember the name

Cigalechanta,
We'll try your suggested L'Affenage, much thanks for all your help.

Maybe they went out of business from too many customer not married to their reservations.

Well, Stephen G what is your problem? Don't assume I wouldn't cancel a reservation, as I always do and with plenty of lead time.
