VacationinParis - Apartment #55

Jump to last reply

Planning to rent the below apartment from vacationinparis rental agency. Would like to get the feedback on the rental company and the apartment itself.

Thanks,

Several Fodorites have rented from them and generally have had positive experiences. I do remember a couple negative, but people mostly like them. One of the negatives was them cancelling someone's reservation at the last minute (due to the owner not wanting it rented) and not even offering a discount on one of their alternative free apts. But you can find comments about VIP on Fodors, there is one big apt. thread that probably has some.

However, as far as that unit, I'm not sure I remember any specifics on that unit (but perhaps have forgotten) and I couldn't find any reviews on it by a search. However, I can say the area is fine, very convenient near the Louvre and Palais Royal, a nice area and off the main streets. I can only point out the obvious in that apartment, which is the size. I guess you know exactly how small that is (48 m2) and I find it hard to understand how a 2 BR apt can exist in that area. I believe you intend to house five people in it, that's the main reason that is an issue. And both bedrooms are 10 m2, which is a very small bedroom. I notice they don't show any photos of the bathroom which means they don't want you to see it and you can assume it is not so great. There is no description of the bed in one of the bedrooms, just that it "sleeps 2". I can't tell from the photos what it is but it may be a trundle bed. Since you have 3 kids (hope they are small), that could be okay.

But if you don't have any problem with that space, it looks okay otherwise.

The apartment is small for five people, but you must have already evaluated that aspect. It looks as though the sleeping arrangements are okay--foldout couch in the 2nd bedroom and in the living room as well as the bed in the 1st bedroom.

Three things I noticed: there are fans but no a/c and you'll be there in July--that may be fine for you; there is no oven, just a microwave and four burners, if that makes any difference; and the dining table seats only three.

We stayed not far from there and found the area very convenient. In general, Vacation in Paris is very well-reviewed on this board.
