The Park International is a three star, and I took Priceline's counter offer of $139. I am not too pleased with the amount, but I had been trying for some time for a 4* with no luck. I was afraid I would end up somewhere in Earl's Court that I am not familiar with, so just lowered my sights and took what was offered.

We have stayed at both the Millennium Bailey's and the M. Gloucester through PL, as well as once having a very nice flat for a family group on Queen's Gate Gardens, so we know the area and just like it a lot.

One reviewer on bidding for travel said they had a basement room at the Park Int'l and didn't like it at all, and another said their room faced Cromwell Road and was noisy; hence my question.

yk, I always omitted Bloomsbury from my Priceline bids because I didn't want to chance getting a hotel in Kings Cross/Euston area. On my last trip, I took a bus through the area and was pleasantly surprised. It is much improved. I would think about adding Bloomsbury now.

I think the ambiance in the King's Cross area is being dragged inexorably upwards by the new Eurostar terminal at St. Pancras (although I admit it hasn't done much for Lambeth!)

Once in a while you'll stumble into a hidden gem on PL. I got the 4* Meli&atilde; White House (Regent's Park) for $115 all in last month. Rack rates are around $300 <u>plus</u> taxes.
