This isn't necessarily true at all. Many insurance policies won't cover expenses in foreign countries, for one thing. Also, a medical supplier may need to be in the insurer's network. Medicare wouldn't cover such a thing, for example.

I have a Transcend Mini Cpap, which I use with disposable humidifier cartridges. It's small, lightweight, runs at 110-240V, and has worked well in China, Thailand, and all over Europe. Not cheap (forgot what I paid), but have seen it priced at $400-$500.

Christina - if you're only staying a week or so, there's no need to fill out forms for Medicare or insurance.

17 EU is a pittance, when it comes down to it.
