using a VISA in Paris

Hello,
Just wondering........do the majority of restaurants, museums, tour companies in Paris accept VISA?

yes

I take and use American Express, MasterCard and Visa. American Express has become much more acceptable in Europe than it was. In Feb. I think I used it exclusively.

You should take several cards with you. Be sure you call the credit card companies to tell them that you are taking it and your travel dates..otherwise you may find that it is blocked..for your security!!

Thank you both for your prompt replies
and reminder to call the VISA company!

Visa is the card held by 80% of the French. The other 20% have MasterCard.

Both are part of the same "carte bancaire" system and every card works in every ATM in France.
