Use a B and B or upgrade voucher?
 

I am wondering if anyone has used vouchers for a B and B nearest to Dublin and/or Galway or should I upgrade to a hotel voucher for these cities? I am going in June and the "kids" (all in their twenties) want to be near the action. Someone said just spend the extra for an upgrade. Do you know how much more these upgrades are? Thank you for your replies in advance.

Depending on the price I would upgrade for these two places and be closer to things. Can you dith voucher for this part and book your own hotel? It may be cheaper.

I personally would not get ANY vouchers for Ireland. These vouchers do not guarantee yoo a room anywhere. They merele mean your room is paid for IF there is a room available when you arrive. June is no yet high season and rooms will be easy to find.

Many great B&Bs/hotels do not accept vouchers at all because of the delayed cash flow. If you use one they then have to process it through the tourist board and wait for their money.

Just go to Ireland and have a good time. Forget about vouchers . . . . . .

If you are already stuck with vouchers (I wouldn't use them again) you can stay in Salthill in Galway in a variety of B&B's. Easy to get into town by bus or even foot if not too far out of the city. (Some are further away from Galway, ask ahead.) You'll have to reserve early, though. I don't think you will have much luck at Dublin B&Bs with them but you could try Dunlaoghaire or Malahide and take the train or bus into town, not too bad.
