USAirways Envoy Class
 

Will be travelling from the U.S. to Britain in August via USAirways and have booked Envoy Class tickets using Dividend Miles. The aircraft in question is the Airbus A330 (I know type can matter!). Any comments from others who have flown Envoy, particularly aboard the A330.

Flown coach on it and it was very nice so Envoy should be great.

The cost in terms of a fortune of frequent flier miles is worth it.<BR>I did it once, and enjoyed it.<BR>

Hello JohnNewOrleans,<BR>I fly US Air Envoy class ( out of Pittsburgh).<BR>Even if you are not already a member of the US Airways Club, you can use those club lounges on the day of departure.<BR>The Airbus 330 is a comfortable ride with plenty of leg room between the rows of seats. ( And retractable foot rests and lumbar adjustments).<BR>Envoy class is rows 2 through 7 with a 2-2-2 configuration.<BR>Row 2 is behind the bulkhead that separates it from first class, so there is no room for you to store luggage in front of you. Same goes for row 6, it is behind the galley bulkhead.<BR>The front cabin galley and lavatories are behind row 5.<BR>Each seat has a stow-able personal entertainment unit and movies on demand.<BR>The amenity kit used to contain Crabtree and Evelyn products in a little zippered fabric case, but last October the kits had turned into clear soft plastic boxes that are not really reusable . The kits contained Caire moisturizer, creamy lip balm, toothbrush &amp; paste, tissues, and the basic eye shades and socks.<BR> For dinner there is usually an appetizer, a salad that is made to order at your seatside , a choice of 3 entrees , a choice of sweets, and assorted cheeses and fruit.<BR>There are before- dinner cocktails, a choice of wine with dinner, after dinner liqueurs , and coffee , cappuccino or tea. <BR>There are snacks set out in the galley should you get the munchies sometime in the middle of the night.<BR>Breakfast is served about 90 minutes before the plane is scheduled to land at Gatwick. Have no fear of arriving hungry! &lt;G&gt;<BR>After you retrieve you luggage and clear UK customs you can make use of the US Air arrivals lounge. That is a nice place to freshen up before you meet your car service driver or you get on the Gatwick Express.<BR>On the return trip, be sure to make use of the new US Air departure lounge at Gatwick, it just opened last year.<BR>Then when you land in the US ( at<BR>Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, or Charlotte) you can visit the US Airway Club and freshen up before the next leg of your trip home.<BR>

Starspinners is right on track. I have flown envoy several times. <BR><BR>Related to row 2 which is the bulkhead as noted. Not only is their no room to store under the seat, I found it to have less room when fully reclined. I am 6'1&quot; and my feet were hitting the bulkhead. This is not the case in the other rows. <BR><BR>You should have a good experience with them.

Recently, I was flying home from Europe, in steerage class. The guy next to me said &quot;Excuse me, but my girlfriend is up in envoy class and we really would like to sit together. Would you mind trading seats with her?&quot; Would I mind??!!! It was wonderful! The food was really good, tons of legroom, service was excellent. I never wanna go back to coach!!!

Thanks for the great replies! We're seated in rows 3 and 4 for the transatlantic portions of the trip and the New Orleans-Charlotte and Pittsburgh-New Orleans legs are both on Airbus A320s, which I like. Think we're in good shape.<BR><BR>Envoy onboard service sounds great. Can't wait to try it.

JohnNO - One thing that you might try, just to confirm what you &quot;think&quot; you know.....(and I presume you're correct), is to log onto www.seatguru.com and check to confirm that there aren't &quot;better&quot; seats available to you....<BR>It's really a good website, hope you find it of help...<BR>Best wishes, Dave

Dave, we lucked out. Seatguru.com (a fun site, by the way!) says rows 3 and 4 are the best in Envoy Class.<BR><BR>This is one itinerary I won't be tinkering with!<BR><BR>The info about the Gatwick arrivel/departure lounges is very helpful, too.
