I always use the + shortcut on my T-Mobile phone for the International dialing code.. but I'd like to know which is the correct code if one did not use the +shortcut...

To call USA from Paris: -is it-
<b>00</b> 1 xxx xxx-xxxx -or- <b>011</b> 1 xxx xxx-xxxx ?

Call Paris from Paris: -is it-
<b>00</b> 33 1 xx xx xx xx -or- <b>011</b> 33 1 xx xx xx xx ?

I know the configuration for a land-line in Paris..
This question is just for a cell phone with a USA Sim card (ex. T-Mobile or Cingular)

ok, so even though I'm roaming the French network, I'm making the call as if I were physically still in the States..?

While you are in France and roaming on a French network to call the USA you will need to make it an international call either 001 212 555 1212 or from a gsm mobile phone +12125551212...(on gsm phones the + key stands in for the international prefix wherever you are adn it never hurts to use it...thus if you set up your phone book with numbers and put the + sign in front of them, the calls will go through whether called from the United States, France or Timbuctu for that matter so I always program the numbers with the +, it does no harm..

On the other hand, while roaming in France, you can dial French numbers on your mobile one of two ways...either with a +33 dropping the lead zero or dialing with the lead zero and no +33 (0634566456 or +33634566456 call will go through either way or cost the same either way (before anybody bothers, the numbers here are totally made up).
