US to Paris in July, connecting through the UK (Heathrow) - quarantine issues?

I'm having trouble sorting out whether the UK imposes additional requirements on fully vaccinated travelers who are simply connecting through LHR. Any insights here?

The French rules are entirely based upon the country from which you enter France, not the passport of the traveler. Not only should you be able to enter via LHR in July, many people are doing this now and have been for over a year: entering the UK as passengers in transit for France. Particularly easy has been entry using the Eurostar.

The last time the French established perimeter defenses such as this, it was called the Maginot Line which was just as effective at keep out the German army as is France's border control policy at halting the pandemic spread.

The website for all things UK is the gov.uk one. Here are the sections about transiting thru the UK, both airside or landside. It also tells you how to complete the Passenger Locator form when transiting.

You have to wait for official government announcements since the rules are changing almost every week in each country. It would be foolish to rely on "information" given here. Some experts are already fearing a 4th wave of the virus in July.

No need to wait, you can read them right now.

Arrivals from Australia, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea or the United Kingdom.

If you are arriving from one of those seven countries, you can enter France.
