US-Paris flights?

hi, we're looking for flights between the US(preferably philly) and paris in mid-August. i've been checking prices for about 6 months and they only seem to be going up. should i just give up and buy now ($1100 per person!) or does anyone think prices might go down? i've also been checking all the usual places--expedia, orbitz, individual airline sites--for deals. is there anywhere else i should look? thank you!

Hi Jen. I would book now. I wondered the same thing about my flight from LAX to CDG for July and went ahead and booked. My flight has gone up $400 since booking! I guess it is the cost of fuel driving those prices up. Did you check travelzoo. com and sidestep for lower prices?

Hi J,

I checked www.kayak.com and www.mobissimo.com, 1050-1150 is the range for nonstops in mid-August.

Fuel prices are very high. Mid August is the peak season. I don't expect to see any major reductions.

www.onetravel.com and www.itasoftware.com

There isn't a lot of competition out of PHL to Paris which might also help explain the high prices.
