Urgent! Booking hotel in Paddington/Bayswater

On a slight budget ($200-ish) plus our stay is only for one night. Anyone have opinions on the hotels of Caesar or Berjaya Eden? Looking for mid-July...only a few weeks away-I have to make a decision tomorrow. Please advise if you've stayed there. Don't want to make a horrible mistake...

Go to tripadvisor.com (London)and plug in Paddington/Bayswater for comments on both of these hotels. It may be the best information you can get at such short notice.

That is a pretty generous budget for that part of town. Don't know either property - other than they are in Paddington/Baywater. Don't know how much you are paying -- but for one night I woulddefinitely consider Priceline. Instead of $200 for a tourist class B&B hotel, you could pay $85 - $100 for a 4 star hotel.

Check out biddingfortravel.com for help and lists of London hotels.

Question - why Paddington/Bayswater. Is it because that's where the Heathrow Express stops. If that's your only reason then look elsewhere as you can find better & more convenient hotels elsewhere in London

I totally agree w/ alanRow. I originally wrote "Instead of $200 for a tourist class B&B hotel in Paddington, you could pay $85 - $100 for a 4 star hotel in a much nicer area" - - - but I edited out the "Paddington" and "much nicer area" because I didn't want to scare you. But it is true there are many nicer areas. And while Paddington isn't dangerous or anything, I'd personally never spend $200 a night to stay there . . . .

I just stayed at My Hotel in Chelsea for less than that. It's a lovely place in a great area. 5 minutes from South Ken or Sloane Square tube.

I love the location of Berjaya Eden. I spent a week at a hotel in the same street , a quiet, residential one but just besides Queensway, a street full of shops and restaurants and the tube and bus stop is right next to the hotel
Said that, I'll never pay such amount of money for a hotel there when you can find a 4 star in priceline for half the price
