Urban Adventure for March/April

10 to 12 days (not including plane ride) to see two or three European cities in March or April. I'd like to limit myself to cities with maybe one or two day trips into the country. I like old architecture, history, art, music, interesting people, lively town squares. I'd like to see some museums but also just want to walk around and take in the city. Have been to Rome and loved it but want to go somewhere else. Where would you go and why?

Most obvious to me would be London & Paris....They have everything you want, and are easily connected by the train.

Or London and any of the above mentioned cities (can you tell I'm biased to London??) :-)

Hi Vita,I am dreaming of going to Paris again this March, the weather is pretty nice towards the end of the month-reading these posts and thinking of answers for peoples questions, makes me want to go too! Paris is a city where you can stay in a decent, charming hotel, and go out in the morning and walk all day...finishing your day with a wonderful meal, and another walk around before bed..what could be better than that? And then if it is cold, rainy or you are tired of all that walking, you can go to a museum and just wander, enjoying some of the best museums in the world...and then eat some more:) so I vote Paris :)~C

We did a 10 day Paris/Ghent combo last May with a day trip to Brugges. You can read about it by searching for "Paris Trip Report" and "Ghent Trip Report" in the text search box.

If you wanted to do 3 cities, I think Paris/Ghent/Amsterdam or Paris/Ghent/Antwerp would be nice and easily doable by train.

I would definitly lean towards April or May this far north.
