you can get a 512 MB card for 74 bucks now. 2.2 gig for 164 bucks.

www.newegg.com

on medium res, maybe half a MB a pic, you can get 500 photos roughly on a 256K card.

how many pics are you going to take?

better to worry about batteries than clearing your card!

Though I have used a "Digital Album" for several years for portable photo storage, I was really happy with my newly acquired "Apacer Disc Steno" on this last trip. It is a CD burner not much larger than a paperback book and requires nothing more than an electrical outlet to operate. You just, insert your CF card or other memory, put in a CD, and press a button and your photos are burned to your CD quickly and efficiently, and you don't have to worry about losing all those little flash cards! CD's hold about 700 MBs of storage, take up hardly any space, and can be bought almost anywhere for a dollar or less.

For Pete's sake, it only takes about 15 minutes to upload the pics, burn them onto a CD and clear your memory card. 15 minutes . . . Your spouse can take a shower for dinner and you'll still have time left over. (Spouse can look at pics while you shower!)

I'd hate to think that I had to spend my entire time on vacation "doing" touristy things. You can always go back. They're not going to close Paris!((@))
