Updaye on road between dubrovnik & Split

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has a recent update on the road construction between Dubrovnik and Split. We will be driving this route in early september and the last post I can find is from May, which said the drive was terrible b/c of the construction (took them 7 hours). I know we do not have that kind of time to catch our ferry. Any update would help.

Thank you

Anyone? We are not driving but we are taking a bus over this route in October.
Thanks,
Jane

Sorry I cannot give you a reliable answer, but I have heard that it resumes in October. I think early September should be fine.
One of the Croatian tourist boards should be of help.

yorkshire,
I have read several of our post and appreciate all your helpful info! I think Tracy or happycheesehead drove this route and didn't have trouble, i just can't seem to find anything on the internet to find updates. Do you have a specfic site you are thinking of that I should look at? Thanks
Lisa

Hi Frommemphis,

I just came back from Croatia. There are NO constructions between Split - Dubrovnik. We took the 8am bus from Split to Dubrovnik and it took exactly 5 hours. It could probably take a bit less; however, the bus stops to pick up people along the way etc, and dealing with slow drivers, high season etc it added up to the time. The view is fantastic, so if you are going in this direction try to seat on the right side of the bus. When you buy your tickets, it will have a seat number, but noone respects this and they seat wherever they feel like. Also, we ended up renting a car in Dubrovnik and we drove up along the coast, and it took me 3.5 hours to Split. We continue up north to Istria area etc and explore the different towns.

I hope this information helps!
