Updated itineray, please comment!
Thank you for your input! I have updated and would appreciate any comments. We must start in Alicante on those days and end in Madrid on that day. Our son is meeting us in Seville on Dec. 20th. Those days can not be changed. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi, momincv:
I guess that you are flying from Alicante to Lisbon, don't you? Because it is a long distance to do it by road... Have you got any reason to spend two nights in Tarifa in December? It will be probably cold and you won't be able to enjoy the advantages of that area in December. It might be really windy and damp. I would add an additional night to Cordoba. I have visited Cordoba three times and I haven't done yet all the visits I'd like to. I hope you'll have a great time here. |
I chose Tarifa because the kids want to go to Morocco for the day. I know that is not really "seeing" morocco but that is what they would like to do. Am I crazy?
|
Well, if the goal is to visit Tanger, then I agree that the ferry takes a shorter time from Tarifa than from Algeciras. Tanger is said not to be anything out of this world, but I guess your kids might be amused with the zoco.
Best regards. |
MOM:
I have forgotten what age are your children? In anycase Tanjier, once is enough. We went on the ferry. On the trip back it was a huge "barf fest", no kidding. At leat 30% of the passengers were very sick due to the choppy sea that day. Locals & Tourists alike, it was a flook perhaps but they were very prepared with lots of those little baggies....That day will always stay in my memory. Personally I would skip Tanjier from where you will be there are better things to do. |
I would definately add a day to Sevilla. 2 nights is not enough for this city.
|
The "kids" are really not kids! Son is 25 and just married and daughter is 22. I don't know why they want to go to Tangier.

I sincerely do not see the need of staying two nights in Tarifa.

Josele,
Here is my thought... Friday: Arrive in Arcos mid-day and stay for one night. Saturday: Walk around Arcos a bit more and then drive to Tarifa (the kids-in their 20's) want to go to Tangier for the day. Spend the night so that we can catch the ferry the next morning? Sunday: Take ferry to Tangier for the day. We don't need to spend a second night but I thought it would be easier. Everyone wants to see "the rock" the next day. Monday: drive to Gibralter, walk around and stay the night in Ronda. If we don't speend 2 night s in Tarifa, where do we spend Sunday night? Is there a different route that I didn't figure out? Should we spend 3 nights in Seville and only one night in Tarifa? (but then we would back track to see Gibralter? I am getting confused I think... |
