Good to hear from you. You and I go WAY BACK.

We'll be in San Quirico for 2 weeks in Sept '17.

Yes, I think we go all the way back 20 years to 1996.
I wish I could join you in San Quirico--sounds terrific.

deladeb Aug 10th, 2016 07:56 AM

Bob, Your advice and tips instilled confidence that we could do things on our own which resulted in memorable trips, thank-you.

I just wanted to say thank you, Bob. When I started planning my trip to Sicily, I had a slow travel report you had written, downloaded many years earlier, and it formed the spine of my own trip. We started where you recommended, the Villa Schuler, and it was magical from that moment forward. Many Fodorites helped in my planning but your report was the catalyst for the whole thing. Thank you so very much.

You are most welcome !
That report from 2005 seems to be popular. It was perhaps the best of our 17 trips to Italy.

I haven't been back on the forum for a while, and I'm hoping that you are well, Bob.

Dayle Mar 3rd, 2017 07:53 PM

Hi Bob! I too hope you are doing well. I owe you for the inspiration of your TRs and all the great advice. I quickly found that if you liked a place, I usually would like it too. I confess to following in your footsteps on more than one trip.

All the very best to you and Susan!

You have been a big help to me on so many occasions. Often, you had no idea you were such a help... thanks much and heal quickly. Happy travels!

daria Mar 18th, 2017 07:43 AM

Hi Bob. I have been thinking of you. You probably don't remember me, but you have given me excellent advice over the years about Italy. I have been on the forum lately planning another trip (this time to Spain), and hadn't seen you, so I was thinking of you and am hoping you are doing well. It is amazing that we can get to know people virtually, and to appreciate them so much. You are very much appreciated.

Best wishes, and I hope you are feeling well.

Daria

Bob - hoping for a full and uneventful recovery. You take care of yourself!

bobthenavigator Mar 18th, 2017 09:51 AM

Thanks Daria,

I wish I could do more.

jangita Mar 18th, 2017 10:14 AM

Daria! I think we were planning early trips together so many years ago. Glad to see you again. Bob brings out the best!

daria Mar 18th, 2017 10:25 AM

Hi jangita! Great to see you too. Yes, I agree, Bob brings out the best in this forum.

BritishCaicos Mar 18th, 2017 12:59 PM

Bob

Really good to see you posting again.

You always brought a balancing view and I think you may have been worn down over time by one "quite contrary" poster who seems to have disappeared.
