Up to date Last Supper ticket info please?
 

Hello fellow foderites. Can anyone help with info for Last supper tickets - I think this is the official website :

but it shows no availability for May or June (except May 26). I am looking for somewhere between June 29 and July 2. Is this lack of availability normal for this time of year (I realise it is peak time) and does anyone have any tips for when July may become available?
Which other website would be best second choice (realising it will be more expensive!)

I will be there May 27 and I checked over 9 weeks ago and it was already full. I imagine that this is common. The only solution I found was to book a tour that goes there since they prebook the tickets for the tours.

Thanks kaleighmh, which tour did you book? I am still hoping early July may be possible because it is not actually open yet but don't know when it will be. Guess I will just have to check frequently!

Hello ozgirl, do you have a hotel reservation in Milan? If so you might ask the hotel if they can obtain the reservations for you. Best wishes!

Ah, Lake Como, beautiful! May I suggest that you ask your hotel there if they can obtain the reservations for you. Just a thought. As a friend in Milan always says "it cost nothing to ask"..that is so true. Or book a tour as kaleighmh suggested but I am not familar with the tours in Milan but no doubt you could check out what other sites and sights they would take you to, to see if that would be of interest to you. Do have a wonderful time in beautiful Italy!

We have a private rental not hotel so I will have to investigate other ticket sellers. Your comment makes me wish even more that it wasn't still 7 weeks away!!

Oh ozgirl, at least you know it is 7 weeks away. I don't know. I say that as there are some problems that dear friends have in Italy and although I had mentally planned to go in September I don't really know. One dear friend is dying of cancer and I just found out that another friend has seperated from her husband and is going to get a divorce and so forth and so on. Two years ago it was a friend that had to have an operation and friends that had their apartment burn down and other friends that suddenly had "mamma" who is in her 90's moving in with them and again so forth and so on.

So when in Milan if you have time go into the Galleria and sit at a cafe table and have a drink and think of me as I love the Galleria!

Where in Australia do you live? My beloved father was raised in Australia. The family moved around your country and I wish I had paid more attention to his stories but I always remember his talking about Christmas and after the roast and Yorkshire Pudding dinner how he and his buddies would go to Bondi Beach for the rest of the day. He never got over winter time in California during Christmas even though our winters are not that bad actually but he longed for the sun and blue sky and being on the beach.

I hope after you are home and settled in you will find time to post a trip report. I certainly wish you a marvelous holiday.

Thanks LoveItaly! It is a sad fact that as we grow older we hear more of our friends and family besiged by illnesses and other problems isn't it? If we were 'sensible' we would be staying at home and paying off the mortgage but as a couple who got together later in life, we are just enjoying each other and travel because you never know what is around the corner!!!

I can apprecaite what your father said, beach is very much part of an Aussie christmas for lots of us.

Have never been to the Italian lakes before but we had an unexpected work commitment cancelled at the beginning of our three weeks in France so found ourselves with 5 days to fill and decided to try the lakes.

I didn't end up booking a tour because we are in Milan for a VERY short period of time after our flight comes in, before we move on to Stresa. But that is just what I found when I was researching. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

I just want to say that I saw the Last Supper without reservations, just after it opened up again (so what year was that?)
My friend and I went out to the site on a whim, at the very end of the day.
At that time, they allowed "walk-ups" to queue and they'd let a few in every time people with reservations didn't show up. We waited in line about 20 minutes, and were the last two people who were let in, between 5:30 and 5:45, and then they roped off the line.
Locals seemed to know about it, and most "walk-ups" seemed like young students.
It might be worth a try if all else fails.

We have been to see "The Last Supper" twice and were told that they release the tickets all at once for a set time period such as for the next two months. You need to know when they are to be relased to make sure you can obtain tickets for your specific date.

Just checked the website and tickets will be available on May 12 for July and August.

The website is inaccurate...I don't know why they even bother to have it. You have to actually telephone them to get a reservation. They will then email you a confirmation. You have to pay in advance. They speak English on the phone and the procedure is fast and efficient.

That said, they do allow same day visitors to fill in the spaces of the no shows. You may have to go on tour in another language, however.

I just clicked on the link you gave, the 3rd line down from the top it says "May 12th will open the online sale for JULY and AUGUST's Tickets"

Ozgirl, I've also been watching that website daily for weeks and just today the note popped up that the July tickets would become available May 12. But it does appear that various other ticket/tour operators I saw by googling have availability for "guided tours" for 16-23E versus the 6.5E (plus 1.5E booking fee) charged on the Vivaticket site. So you might find an opportunity through them if the VivaTicket doesn't work out. That's my back up plan, anyway...

I'm watching the site as well, I see openings pop up from time to time, so I'm still wondering how accurate it is, and whether or not you can actually purchase online vs calling.
