Up the budget - Paris hotels

Thanks to those who helped on my earlier thread today about Isle hotels in Paris (I am forum-assisting honeymoon planning friends).

Tremoille (8th/4-star)
La Perle (6th/3-star)
... are two that look good to them. Any comments? Budget is 300-350 euro for a honeymoon treat. Other centrally located suggestions in the 200-300 range?

merci, Suze

I don't know the Termoille, but the 8th wouldn't generally be my first choice.

I am familiar with La Perle, though I haven't stayed there. I believe it's on Rue des Canettes? We stay at Hotel Bonaparte just around the corner. Last trip we went in and looked at all the improvements the Perle had made. Tres, tres nice.

Let me add one thing. La Perle is on a very "hopping" street with nightlife and lots of restaurants, creperies, and a pizzaria or 2. That would be my only hesitancy about it. But it may appeal to your friends.

If I could pay that rate, I'd go for a king deluxe at Hotel de Fleurie

Tremoille is about $200,00 over their budget. Don't know Le Perle but it has a great location. What about all those L'Ile de St Louis hotels that were suggested?

Thanks all. I'll pass on the one more recommendation. I wondered about the 8th. I tried to suggest they pick the neighborhood first, then look at hotels, but I'm not sure they are taking my excellent advice ;-)

Jody, Yes they are considering still those we found for them on I'lle St Louis (thanks again to everyone).

It's just for a couple nights and is a honeymoon for a 40-ish well established couple business professionals, so they can drop the dime for the right spot.

I think they are focusing too much on the hotel itself rather than the part of the city, what it's convenient to, and what's nearby.

I already talked them into at least being in the city. As other (less informed -lol) friends we telling them to stay outside and take Metro in every day.

OK... too much information. But anyone else with upscale hotels that have something special going for them. Chime in...

Thanks again!

JeanneB- Thanks for the Hotel de Fleurie recommendation. That looks lovely and a better location in the 6th. I'll pass it on.

If they can drop the dime....love that expressions!!..my choice for a honeymoon would be Pavillion de la Reine on the Place de Vosges!

thanks Jody! How am I ever going back to my own budget after seeing these beauties?

They booked a room at Hotel de Fleurie and are very happy with the choice. Thank you for the great suggestion. I could have never figured this one out myself!

Next time do have them consider staying on Ile St. Louis. Have stayed at three very homey but comfortable and moderately priced hotels with fantastic staff: Hotel Saint Louis, Deux Iles, and Hotel de Lutece.

Best staff were the ones at the Hotel Saint Louis very welcoming and helpful.

Somebody beat me to it, but I would have recommended the wonderful Hotel de la Fleurie, too! Great choice. Hope they have a fabulous time.

Yes, La Fleurie is where they ended up reserving. I'll report back after September trip.

Ile St Louis was my first suggestion, but they were looking for something a bit nicer, than the 3-4 hotels located there were reviewed (honeymoon and all).
