Unusual budget accommodations

I enjoyed the list of 8 unusual budget accommodations as an antidote to ho-hum hotels, and would like that list expanded.
Ny two contributions, both in Stockholm:
1) a former prison - a hostel at Longolmen island
2) a boat - also a hostel.

There is also an ice hotel in Sweden, among the unusual, but it ain't no budget.

I stayed in a treehouse in Olimpos, Turkey for 5 USD per person per night a few years back, and that included breakfast and dinner!

Do convents in Travestere (Rome) qualify?

Was that 8 unusual budget accommodations list a thread? If so, anyone have the link? I'd love to see that...
