I too happily travel with meds out of their original container (OTC and Rx) but can offer a close approximation of someone who did have trouble with customs.

My mother visited me in Oz (if that qualified for "civilized") and had her packet of Coffeemate (in a clear plastic bag) conviscated - guess it was the white powder that did it.

We have always placed our prescription drugs and vitamins in small plastic bags for each day. We have been to Italy several times, Russia, and Grand Cayman, and have never had a problem.

Maybe Rush should not have had that 29" suitcase full of oxycontin, that's bound to draw attention!!!

2italy - it was Viagra, not Oxycontin -- big difference!

BettyK....drug this..drug that...Rush has a documented "problem" with drugs and given his personality I suspect the LAST thing he would want anyone to know is that he needs help getting it up.

I live in Switzerland and keep my two daily medicines messily thrown in together in one of those cute little tins that pastilles come in. This one has little garden gnomes on it. No labels, nothing, nobody has ever asked what they are and I've only been stopped by Customs once in 8 years, probably 2-3 trips per year back and forth to the US.

It is commonly said that medications must be carried in their original containers. Can anyone show this on any govt website? ((*))
