Hello everybody,
Im from the Czech republic and I would like to ask if you know our beautiful mountains and cityes except Prag. Specifically places like Karlova studánka, water pumping power station Dlouhé stráně and Jeseníky mountains. Why Im asking?
I would like to introduce foreigners those beautiful regions and people (much more friendly than in Prag. And ask if there would be demand to visit this parts of our lovely country?

I went on a 2 week Czech trip this past Easter and visited and/or stayed at the places mentioned below. I did not see the places you mentioned but did get a much better view of the country other than just Praha

We found people in Prague to be very friendly - by and large (there are a couple of grumps anywhere).

And who wants to see a water pumping station when you can be touring a millennium of unique history and culture?

My nephew spent a semester in Prague this year and is dark skinned and was treated poorly because they thought he was Romani.

Many of us that have visited the Czech republic many times tend to prefer the more far out places.My very first visit to the CR over 20 years ago was to Harrochov in the north of the country and i have visited many other areas.Most of my touring relates to breweries and micro brewries so unless a town or village has one of these I do tend to give them a miss,though a nice castle within a reasonable distance of something beer related will get my interest but water pumping stations just don't do it for me.

IN any case, yes, I have been to Moravia and liked it very much.

It was poorly written, my main goal was to find out, if the Czech republic is known only as the landscape around Prag And Im not tour quide, maybe I would like to be in the future.I would like to show people beautiful places where I have luck to grow up. Im really glad you have given me your time. And Im looking forward to next comments.

Can you elaborate on some of the Czech picks. We will be travelling between Budapest and Prague and want to spend a couple of days in one or two places. Cesky Krumlov is one - can you recommend others. I thought about Karlsbad but it looks pricey. I'd like to see some countryside and villages as a break from Buda and Prague. Thanks in advance,

We visited the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary several years ago, picking up a rental car as we left Prague and dropping it as we entered Budapest.

In the Czech Republic, we stayed in Telc and Olomouc and liked both very much. Throughout the country, our focus was on visiting old castles - and the region has a lot of them! (We gave Cesky Krumlov a miss, as it sounded a bit too touristy for our interests on that trip, with a plan, yet unfulfilled, to visit there on a trip that included Austria.)

DP215 - sorry for the delay in responding. We did a lot of driving around and did visit a number of small villages but that was up in North Moravia so way out your direction.

Cesky Krumlov was fun. Very touristy but worth a couple of days stay. This is a favourite of people on this board. Very fun for kids too with multiple puppet museums, a museum of advertising, cheesy museum of torture, the castle of course and a good art museum.

Brno which is a direct line from Budapest and Prague was a fairly large sized city. We were only there for 1/2 day and IMHO not what you are looking for.

We did not go to Karlsbad but went to Plzen for a day and the Pilsner Urquell tour was great fun. Even my 9 yr old daughter enjoyed it if you are into that kind of thing.
