United 's stability

How stable of an airline do you think United is and/or will be? Should I redeem all my miles now? Or do you feel they will survive this and be around for a bit longer?

Rob, I think UAL will be around. Look at Continental, they survived Chapter 11 and are doing much better. I think UAL will do the same. They just need to get some of their fixed costs under control.

I think they will be around for a while, almost certainly the rest of this year and probably longer. However, if you are able to fly sooner rather than later, I would go sooner.

I'd go sooner than later too. Redeem them now and don't think about it too much. If you can get a good ticket now, it is another reason to go. Sure United will be around and I'm sure they're mileage program too, but until they're done with Chapter 11 and reorganization, you probably should go now.

Open a free Hilton Honors American Express Card. Then, "send" your United miles to it. If you want to reserve a flight, you can either book through Hilton Honors, or if you give yourself 6 weeks leeway, you can "send " your now points back to United for miles.
