United Airlines Sale, I'm getting vouchers.

Our United Airlines IAD-AMS, BRU-IAD tickets are on sale for $750.50. UA is issuing two vouchers for the difference of $372.01 each.

Did United not require you to pay a change fee?

Forgot about that - I posted in reply to ronkala's post of the US forum - yes, we paid a change fee, and still got $100 voucher.

Nothing was said about a change fee, nor was there one last year when the same thing happened.

Betty,
I called United this week for two more vouchers as the price dropped another $20.00. There is no fee charged when the vouchers are issued, but when I use them for our flight to Albuquerque in September the fee will be $25.00. That is because it has to be a phone reservation.

FYI, the policy on this just changed today. There will be a fee for refaring United tickets purchased on or after March 20--$150 for domestic tickets and varying fees for international tickets.

Yikes, what a bummer. It is still worth though considering there is already a decent senior discount on the IAD-ABQ flight. Meanwhile, the original fare overseas is back up above eleven hundred dollars.

ms_go,
I misunderstood your explanation thinking the $150.00 fee applied when making reservations using vouchers.

I just learned otherwise when calling for addtional vouchers as our flight has dropped to $635.10. The agent explained the price difference has to be more than $150.00, and vouchers will be given only for the amount over $150.00.

I'm still ahead now knowing it will only cost $25.00 when making the ABQ reservations.

Greetings --
Just this evening, I was booking my flight. I had a United voucher for $125.00, and was told, "In order to use that voucher, it will cost you $150.00."
So be wary of their offers.
