UNITED AIRLINES BONUSES!

Hey check out United Airlines websight! They are offering extra bonuses for travelers who have been inconvenienced and mileage bonuses for those who continue to fly thru December 2000.

The bonuses are listed in the press release section.

But the mileage bonuses are only for Premier level frequent flyers. And the other "bonuses" are things like not charging people the normal change fee if they decide to change their return flight because their outbound flight was delayed by United.

Sorry to be negative, but there's no way United can make up for the delayed/canceled flights and resulting headaches and heartbreaks. Sorry, won't work and we shouldn't fall for it.

Extra bonuses so we can book more United flights which will be delayed or canceled. Big deal! Hooray for United! They deserve last place in the rankings. This is the third attempt in the last few weeks to try to placate United customers. When are they going to get it? We want them to be courteous, prompt and professional and just get us to wherever we need to go ON TIME. Settle your dispute with the pilots, get some competent ground staff and reservation agents and get rid of the flight attendents with the attitude. How much does it take? The other airlines are trying while United is sending anyone who complains about service nasty and insulting letters, trying to justify their failures. Are they a service industry? When their planes are empty perhaps they'll learn because the public cannot trust United to carry out their promises. They've failed to meet expectations again. I hope their stock continues to fall until they wake up and smell the coffee.

United is like the telephone company. Sometimes you just have to use them.

When United mergers with US Airways, will there be a choice?

I'm sort of hoping that merger gets lost in the shuffle of discontent. I love USAirways. Have had nothing but good experiences with them for about 10 years, although now that Baltimore isn't a primary hub anymore, they've lost a bit of lustre for me...
