No. I was going to, five years ago. Then I arrived in Madrid, and a close family member fell sick unexpectedly and it resulted in my having to cancel all the tickets/plans! But such is life. Spanair actually refunded every cent after a simple letter from the doctor (and the relative is perfectly fine now). So came close to it but didn't. Anyway, the future is starting.... right now.
I promise to look up your report.

RTT: I DO take a lot! In Greece, my first trip after I got the DSLR I took about 800 pictures, and later that year in France I took about 700. Many are certainly awful, many of my Paris pictures have a slanted horizon, but out of all of them, there are a few gems. My Venice pictures from this year are much better, and I didn't take so many, but I do believe it is best to take, take, and take again, getting the angle, avoiding cluttered backgrounds, waiting for the bus to go by, etc. Doesn't cost a thing except battery power, and I'm always well supplied with that. I would love to take a photography tour, like one offered in Venice, but I think I better practice some more before doing that.

Comfy: I don't know about the US. I live here, but I've not researched that. When we were planning a Venice trip, which we took March 07, we saw a photo tour offered in one of the travel sites or guide books. It didn't work out this time, but maybe in the future. Also, some photo magazines have "seminars" in different countries. I'm still considering combining a regular trip with a couple of extra days of a photo tour. Comes with a guide, a photo expert, and you're taken to the places at the right time and right angle, etc. for the best shots. I will see if I can locate the one we saw, or find some info on similar offerings in the US.
